About me

Photographer -- Scientist -- Designer -- Climber

I'm a wildlife photographer and artist based in Sheffield, UK. I've always loved the natural world, fell in love with Africa, then discovered the wildlife on my doorstep. I spend a lot of time outdoors, whether it's taking pictures, hiking, biking, kayaking or climbing. I trained as a physicist and you'll see in my images that the scientific curiosity hasn't left me.

After a decade in the medical technology industry I swapped the desk-job for a more active life in the outdoors. I currently split my time between long term creative projects and coaching fitness, strength and mobility.

I live with my partner Alex, and Charlie (the most handsome black and white cat) in a home full of plants.

I'd love to hear from you if you're interested in collaborating on future projects, want to use my images or order prints, or just want to chat wildlife and photography.

Awards, Exhibitions and Publications

All being well, I will be exhibiting new pieces at the Norfolk Wildlife Trust visitor centre at Cley-next-the-sea as part of the Cley Contemporary Art Exhibition during the summer of 2021.

The 2020 exhibition calendar has been impacted by the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. I'm delighted to say I have at least one physical exhibition going ahead:

"Air Traffic Control" was part of the Bird Photographer of the Year touring exhibition 2019:

My work is featured in these beautiful coffee-table books:

You can purchase a number of my images as limited edition fine art prints:

Each edition is made using the finest archival quality materials. As standard prints are on Hahnemühle Baryta fine art paper with Epson UltraChrome Pro Pigments. Each print comes with an additional 1 cm of white border around the image to facilitate framing.

If you would like a different print media or bespoke size to suit your space then I am happy to help. On request I can organise framing and mounting via my printers.

To order prints, please email me: contact@kathryncooperwildlife.com
